As I’m sure you know if you’re in the process of looking for a realtor, buying a house is one of the most stressful processes. There’s a million steps, a million things you can get wrong, and this brand new book of terminology that is thrown at you and you’re expected to just know it.
Our story: My husband (fiance at the time) and I by some enormous strike of good luck were told to reach out to Dave to help us with our first time home buying search. At this point we have spoken to a few realtors who failed to even listen to our basic pro/con list so we were feeling a bit discouraged, but we reached out to Dave with an open mind and we are so glad we did. Within a few minutes he replied to our initial inquiry and was ready to talk on the phone to answer any/all questions my Husband and I had. He was beyond personable, very knowledgeable, and put our minds at ease immediately. We knew within one minute of speaking with him that he was our realtor. We told him what we were looking for, what we weren't looking for, our budget, and anything else we could give him to help him find us our home. He set us up with a personal link to look at houses he thought were a good fit and that was honestly pretty cool. After a bit of looking, we fell in love with a house & put in an offer. Dave made sure we knew the pros/cons of getting any/all inspections as we were unsure we needed to do a full inspection of any kind and thought we knew what we were doing, and we are still thankful to this day that he bestowed his knowledge upon us. Upon getting the inspection, my husband and I found out that the house had vermiculite in the attic. My husband and I called Dave in a panic because that's the literal last thing you ever want to hear when you get an inspection report back. Dave put us at ease right away and reached out to the seller's realtor to discuss the report and what can be done. As you can imagine, the sellers did not want to abate the vermiculite and my husband and I feared we were stuck. Dave was able to help us navigate those terrifying waters without breaking a sweat, put our minds at ease, and eventually helped us back out of the contract. I would like to say that every situation is vastly different, but how someone handles a situation like this is something I believe speaks volumes to someone's abilities in their profession. Dave could have simply told us “well you signed this contract so you can live with it”, but he listened to our concerns and rolled with the punches.
Thankfully, after looking a bit more we were able to find another house that we fell even more in love with, and everything worked out well with that inspection! Dave helped us with anything that came up during the process of buying our house. From asking if we needed help with anything, explaining things quite a few times to us, and to even taking photos with us when we got our keys/signed the papers. He even took time out of his day to come back to our new house after we got the keys to take a few photos in our new house with us and to just hang out with us for a little bit and share our excitement with us.
If you’re still reading, I can tell you with 100% certainty you will be hard pressed to find someone that is like Dave. He truly cares about his clients, goes that extra mile, and puts you at ease every step of the way. When making one of the biggest purchases of your life you should have someone like him in your corner. If you’re still not convinced yet, he even went out of his way to check in after a few months to make sure things went well, we were all moved in, staying happy/healthy, and to wish us congratulations on our recent marriage. That’s true compassion for your clients and I wish you luck finding that anywhere else but with Dave. Just do yourself a favor that future you will thank you for and give him a call/shoot him an email :)
